I have not tried any other Italian language school, but I am sure there is no other school as fantastic as Scuola Romit! Here’s why:The school is quite small, and because of that, all the teachers know you by name, which makes you feel really welcome and at ease. Apart from being attentive, the... teachers are also all very passionate, kind, patient, enthusiastic, funny and skilled. It’s clear they really like their job, and that they are very devoted to their school.Apart from teaching, they also organise lots of activities for the afternoons/evenings: Every week there’s a free cinema in the school, and one or two ‘visite’, visits, guided by one or two of them, to a neighbourhood, museum, church or some other special place in Rome (and after that a delicious Italian meal). That way, one does not only learn and practice to understand and speak the Italian language, but also a lot of interesting things about the wonderful ‘eternal’ city in which the school is located. Furthermore, these visits are always very ‘gezellig’, as we say in Dutch. After my course at Scuola Romit, I would have been able to write this review in Italian, but I didn’t because I want as many as possible of you to know how amazing this school is. So there you are. I absolutely adore Romeit because of its impeccable corse program which thoroughly organized for individual learners from beginner to advance. Also, the faculty members are always helpful, patient and knowledgeable. The numerous topics (culture, politics, pollution, food..etc.) discussed in class... are invaluable because you share the ideas with classmates from all around the globe. I had a wonderful time during a two week session.The teachers are completely invested in YOUR success. I was worried I would feel out of place as I am older than the average student in 20s and 30s, but not one bit! I was welcomed warmly. Teachers are incredible, classes are small and everyone gets... personal attention. My Italian improved about 100% and so much fun to go from school out into Rome and actually use the language. Lors d'une escapade romaine au mois de mars dernier, j ai eu le grand plaisir de prendre des cours à Scuola Romit. Une expérience inoubliable. L'accueil à la romaine, chaleureux, presque familial, contribue à se sentir en confiance dès le premier jour, et les enseignants, très compétents animent... des cours très vivants, interactifs entre les élèves de nombreuses nationalités, le tout dans une ambiance extrêmement sympathique. Conditions optimales pour progresser très rapidement . Au delà des cours, l école organise des sorties culturelles, mais aussi des soirées autour D un verre ou D un repas, pour multiplier les échanges et prolonger les discussions en langue italienne, nous permettant ainsi de nous rendre compte de notre capacité à nous exprimer grandissante.Je pense retourner très vite à Rome, et ce que j ai vécu à Scuola Romit y est pour beaucoup, et bien sûr je reprendrai volontiers des leçons , chez ces vrais professionnels de l enseignement, passionnés et généreux.Grazie a tuttiCi vediamo prestoEmmanuellelire la suite

Ho studiato nella Scuola Romit per un mese e fin dall’inizio mi sono sentita come a casa. I professori sono bravissimi e sono stati sempre molto disponibili e pronti ad aiutarmi… dapprima, rispondendo le mie e-mail che inviavo dall’ Argentina, poi, aiutandomi a trovare un alloggio ed infine,... durante il mio soggiorno a Roma. Il rione Monti, dove si trova la Scuola, è un bellissimo quartiere e molto ben collegato. È stata una esperienza unica … Ho imparato molto, ho fatto vere amicizie, mi sono goduta la città !! Zdravím všetkých. Ani po dlhom čase nezabúdam na dobrých priateľov a hlavne učiteľov z tejto školy, kde som bola v jari tohto roku: sú tam naozaj príjemní ľudia a chcú i vedia naučiť :)Kto má záujem o dobrú jazykovú školu - odporúčam. Super je aj to, že dĺžku kurzu si volí každý sám, ide o... týždňové bloky a človek si sám zvolí kedy nastúpi (vôbec sa nemusí ísť od septembra či od začiatku ktoréhokoľvek mesiaca, ale hocikedy, mal by to byť ale PONDELOK) a tiež si sami zvolíte koľko levelov teda týždňov chcete absolvovať. Pri nástupe vás zaradia na takú úroveň, na akej sa nachádzate a ide sa na to. Takže hor sa do taliančiny ! 🙂 Teším sa, keď sa tam budem môcť znovu vrátiť a pokračovať ďalej do vyšších levelov 🙂lire la suite

La scuola di lingua migliore d'Italia! Tutti l'insegnanti sono bravissimi e simpaticissimi. Tante cose da fare durante la settimana, mi dispiace che sono rimasta solo per due. My husband and I moved to Rome in the fall for jobs. We were referred to Scuola Romit by a friend and it also happened to be right down the street from our apartment. We began with the 4 week evening course, twice a week. Marlena was our teacher and we were the only English speakers in the group.... It was exciting to be in the minority as English speakers and because of this, we spoke Italian for the entirety of every class. Marlena is an exceptional teacher (and I am a teacher of literature myself, so I feel that I am in a good position to look at pedagogy critically). She is dynamic, enthusiastic, consistent, kind, and always encouraging. After our 4 week course was over, we began taking private lessons with Marlena at the school. She is incredibly accommodating, working with our schedules and is always understanding when it comes to last minute changes. Even in private lessons, her energy and enthusiasm remains inspiring and we will continue to work with her and Scuola Romit. We enthusiastically, without hesitation or reserve, recommend the school for anyone looking to learn Italian!lire la suite

I spent 2 weeks at the school in January of this year and absolutely loved it! It was in a great part of Rome and the teachers were all so nice. It's a small school which is great because you get the chance to study in small groups but you also meet everyone because of the morning coffee break... where we all go to a cafe around the corner to chat and practise some Italian! On the first day we went for a walk around Rome which was really helpful. The teachers are wonderful because they really know how to explain things when you don't understand, it really helped me build confidence in using Italian. Romit basically stole my money. First they cancelled the first week of my intensive course due to lack of students (it was only me and I had signed up for 1 month intensive and a couple of months extensive). Then, after telling them that we had a medical emergency, travel plans, and then a family... emergency, they refused to give me a refund for multiple months of extensive classes. As a teacher myself, I can attest that their pedagogy is lacking. There are very few checks for student understanding. There were no tests or quizzes or anything of that nature. You sit in a room for 3 hours a day (with a half hour coffee and cigarette break in the middle) with someone mostly just talking at you in Italian. If you know zero Italian to start with, this is not a helpful way to actually learn the language. Also, they changed teachers in the middle of my few weeks of class without giving us any reason why and the new teacher appeared to have no knowledge of what we had already gone over and actually told us things that were contradictory to what the first teacher had told us. I would not recommend Romit. There are reasons why they are the cheapest.lire la suite

Amazing teacher, intensive course (even when it's twice per week), useful materials, central location, lots of social activities, very good proce.
